Mormon Doctrine
In mormon doctrine a person has a body and a spirit. All spirits of all persons lived in heaven before the creation. Mormon doctrine states we all existed together as spirits before the world was created. Mormon doctrine states that God, our Heavenly Father, presented a plan for his children to be tested and return to live with him once more. This plan is called the Plan of Salvation or the Great Plan of Happiness. In Mormon doctrine, this plan proposed that the spirits in heaven be sent to earth to receive a body and be tested by facing temptations and trials. To overcome these trails and return to heaven after mortal life, a Savior was provided. Jesus Christ volunteered to be the Savior in God the Father’s plan, and give all glory to the Father.
