Dental Hygienist Training Usually Requires Clinical Experience and an Internship
Under normal conditions dental hygienist training requires that you attend a college or university. Upon acceptance into a dental hygiene program you will take courses leading to a B.S. degree in dental hygiene. With training to be a dental hygienist you will also have to spend some time in a clinical environment and most likely have to do an internship during your last year before you graduate. You will also have to pass a state certification exam which includes a test and actual demonstration of your skills. There is a lot of science related courses that you will have to take as well.
