The gateway to success

Obesity and Cat Health Care

Dog owners are more than aware of the necessity of walking their dog regularly so that he doesn’t gain too much weight but cat owners often make the mistake of assuming they need not worry too much about exercise and obesity’s contribution to cat health care.

In fact, having an obese cat makes your pet much more likely to develop life threatening illnesses which could not only take away your beloved pet but might cost a good deal of money to treat.

People whose cats are overweight should encourage their cats to be more physically active by increasing the amount of time their pet spends outside and by encouraging them to play more by introducing toys for them to chase.

Changing the cat’s eating habits will help too. Follow the guidelines of how much to feed the cat and don’t give in to the temptation to feed table scraps. Your cat will thank you in the longer term.
