Father Retires after Witnessing Construction Accident
My father was about one year away from retirement but decided to retire early after seeing an accident on the construction job site last week. My father digs trenches for large buildings. This is where the footing sits for the foundation of the building. Many trenches are very deep and occasionally the soil with give way and the trench will collapse. My father’s co-worker of 20 years had severe pennsylvania construction injuries and later died at the hospital due to the accident. This was enough for my father to decide that life was too short and work was no longer worth the risk. He retired on Monday.
