Why We Have To Watch Out For Identity Theft
Haven’t we learned yet? Identity theft is rife. Most of us still think that it is enough to crumble, or maybe tear up a piece of paper with sensitive data on it. Yesterday’s spaghetti leftovers will take care of what’s left to read of your bank statement or credit card report. At least that is what we think. After all, why would someone go through our garbage? We are not rich, not special, just a normal Jane or John Doe. Think about it this way: if you would run an identity scam, would you want to steal the identity of a celebrity? How far would you go with a credit card in the name of Paris Hilton? Probably not far. But then, stealing the identity of John Smith could be far more lucrative. Nobody would suspect that you are not him. This is why we must be on guard against identity theft.
