Your Elevator Speech is Your Personal USP or Branding Statement
Once you have your USP, what you must do is reduce that USP to a short introduction called the elevator speech or elevator pitch. It’s also often called the “30-second commercial.”
Have you ever heard of the term “elevator speech”? Most professionals have because they use it at meetings and introductions.
It’s a 15-30 second scripted dialogue, using layman’s terms, that you use to introduce yourself to someone.
It’s a verbal business card that’s quick, clear and compelling.
Basically, it’s a mini-USP or executive summary of your branding statement designed to make a positive impression and arouse the interest for a job or potential business.
If you run a service based business, your USP is probably your elevator speech already … if you can reduce it to saying it in under 30 seconds. Your USP is probably your brand statement.
