Bankruptcy Notification
Many people wonder who is going to be notified if they should file for bankruptcy. Generally speaking, the only people who will be told are your creditors, the IRS, and the bankruptcy court itself. If you apply for a new job and your prospective employer runs a credit check, the bankruptcy will show up on your credit report, and sometimes this can make it harder for you to get a job, but not all employers run credit checks, and not all will hold a bankruptcy against you. Later on you can find out how to remove a bankruptcy. Be aware that bankruptcy records are public, so if someone wants to check to see if you have filed for bankruptcy they can, but there is no public announcement.
