The gateway to success

A Commentary On “William McGurn: Gallup’s Pro”

Mr. Daniels,

Abortion should be a big issue, but in moral dimensions, for the conscience of individuals involved. Because of the intimate aspect of it, government, or community in general, should have very little, if any involvement in these decisions.

My text arrives just from a weird thought that things might be not as most of us assume. However, I might be wrong.

Nevertheless, I commented here not about abortion, but about lecturing style of the advice column by Mr. McGurn. It just happened that growing up in Poland, I experienced different style of political writing. I am conditioned to expect that political writing would be persuasive and argumentative, that it would be yeast to my thinking. Unfortunately, most political writers in the U.S., fell into mannerism of preaching. They would not abstain form taking any opportunity to canvass their agenda. The column by Mr. McGurn is a classic example of this trait. Every time when I read text like this one, as we used to say in Poland, coal in my basement sprouts up.
